The 2010 Football Season is shaping up to be another terrific year for the SMFA Family. The annual general meeting was held in January and the new Board of Directors shapes up likes this:

President – Theresa Jordan
Vice President – Darryl McDonnell
Secretary – Michelle Goodrick
Treasurer – Kelly Christian
Registrar – Shannon Qiodravu
Assistant Registrar – Pam Potter
Director of Coaching – Rob Ellis
High School liaison – Denise Derksen
Assistant Equipment Manager – Toby Gathergood
Director at Large – Tony Pereira
Director at Large – Anne Holmes

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that attended the meeting and on behalf of the board, thank you for the confidence that you have shown in us. It will be a personal challenge for me to fill Paul Peach's shoes, I'm hoping that I can at least fill his striped socks!

The Mudball Party was held on January 30th. It started with a couple of flag football games at the indoor arena and ended with food and presentations in the LMSC Clubhouse. It was a good time for everyone invloved. I especially enjoyed watching the coaches/family team whoop the Bantam/high
school team. I can see a rematch in the future.....

Registration will be held the first weekend in May this year so that all those players that wish to attend the Pro Am camp in Kelowna are prepared. There will be a small increase in registration fees for the Shuswap Minor Football Program. Please take a look at the registration form located on our website. Click here for the 2010 Registration Form.

A link to the Pro-Am Camp website is also available. For those of you that have not attended in the past it is a wonderful weekend of fun and football with many professional players from the CFL and NFL acting as coaches and trainers for the kids. It is attended by kids from all over Alberta and BC as well as some kids from the USA. It's a great way to kick off the season for players and families.

Our spring camp will be commence the third week of May. Dates will be finalized and announced as we get closer to kickoff.

As always, we have the best crew of coaches in the interior, perhaps in all of BC, and I would like to personally thank each of them for their efforts in making our program a continuing success. For those of you that are not aware, we are the smallest association in BC but thanks to our coaches and the dedication of our players we are the biggest threat!

As always, volunteers are the difference between a good year a great year. Please pitch in and make this the best year yet!
